Leonardo to Provide Visual Content for Skyscanner Hotel Product
Leading Global Travel Search Site Taps Leonardo’s Hotel Media Library and Display Technology to Present Hotel Visual Content to its Web and Online Offerings.
Toronto – June 16, 2014 – Leonardo Worldwide Corporation, today announced a new agreement with Skyscanner, a leading global travel search engine offering an unbiased, comprehensive and free flight search service as well as instant online comparisons for hotels and car hire.
Skyscanner has subscribed to Leonardo’s MediaConnect product to source hotel visual content for hotels listed on its website, which offers search available in over 30 languages and 70 currencies. With this subscription, Skyscanner is now a member of Leonardo’s VNetwork, the most extensive visual media syndication network in the global travel industry.
Seamless image sourcing and processing
With the MediaConnect product, Skyscanner will gain access to over 1.9 million photos from the global travel industry’s largest hotel media library for over 100,000 GDS listed hotels globally. Skyscanner will also benefit from the image sourcing and processing features included in the MediaConnect product, such as:
- Delivery of media in multiple formats and sizes along with meta-data including categories and captions.
- Brand and hotel certified content that is updated regularly to ensure accuracy and freshness of content on Skyscanner’s websites and minimize rogue image issues.
- Media sourcing through advanced XML connectivity based on industry standards from HTNG (Hotel Technology Next Generation) and Open Travel Alliance.
Engaging multi-media display
Skyscanner will also embed Leonardo’s media display technology to display multi-media for hotels that subscribe to Leonardo’s VBrochure Online Merchandising System providing enhanced visual experiences for travel shoppers on Skyscanner.
