Finmeccanica - AnsaldoBreda: worth about 100 million euro contracts signed with Trenitalia for the maintenance of Frecciarossa and regional trains

Finmeccanica - AnsaldoBreda signed two contracts for a total amount of approximately 100 million euro with Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) to provide maintenance for Frecciarossa ETR 500 fleet and regional trains

• A five-year contract to supply materials and carry out repairs for regional trains


Rome, 19 December  2014 – Finmeccanica - AnsaldoBreda signed two contracts for a total amount of approximately 100 million euro with Trenitalia (FS Italiane Group) to provide maintenance for Frecciarossa ETR 500 fleet and regional trains. 

The first, worth 67 million euro, is a three-year contract (with an option to extend it for an additional year), to provide integrated logistics services for all Frecciarossa ETR 500 trains currently operating across the Italian railway network. The contract envisages the supply of materials and services of repair and overhaul to meet requirements of Trenitalia plants in Naples, Milan and Vicenza.
 
The second, worth about 29 million euro, is a five-year contract to supply materials and repairs for the fleet of the new double-decker train carriages for regional transport (CDPTR) currently in operation across the country. AnsaldoBreda is committed to meet requirements of seven Trenitalia maintenance 1st and 2nd level plants.

Trenitalia is a “Related Party” of Finmeccanica, insofar as it is a company indirectly owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance (through Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane SpA).

Therefore Finmeccanica hereby informs that, in compliance with the provisions thereon contained in Consob Regulation n. 17221/2010, the transactions described are “of lesser relevance” (put in place by the affiliate AnsaldoBreda), approved under the Procedure for Related Parties Transactions adopted by Finmeccanica’s Board of Directors.

ETR 500: developed and provided by the Italian Consortium “TREVI” led by AnsaldoBreda the ETR 500, renamed Frecciarossa, is the first high-speed train with not tilting cars built in Italy in accordance with the new trends also appeared in other European countries.
