Upgraded Al Muharraq ship delivered today to Royal Bahrain Naval Force

  • Leonardo delivered the second fully upgraded ship equipped with state-of-the-art systems 
  • The Royal Bahrain Naval Force awarded the company a contract to upgrade six vessels in 2015 and received the first one in December 2017, two ahead of schedule
  • The achievement reflects Leonardo’s commitment in supporting Bahraini Armed Forces and its excellence in the Naval domain 
 
During a ceremony in Mina Salman at Royal Bahrain Navy Head Quarter, Leonardo delivered the second of six upgraded naval vessels, Al Muharraq ship, following a deal signed in 2015 with the Royal Bahrain Naval Force. The upgrade includes a new weapon control system, training services and logistics.
 
The first ship, called Al Manama, was delivered in December 2017 two months ahead of schedule, proving the strong commitment of Leonardo in supporting the Royal Bahrain Naval Force as well as all its customers in the country. 
 
This is just one of the latest in a string of successes for Leonardo in Bahrain, where the company has also supplied advanced air traffic control radar systems, which are enhancing the safety and efficiency of the country’s national airspace management.
