- Leonardo has been re-certified as compliant with the ISO 37001:2016 standard, recognising the Company’s commitment to anti-corruption, its targeted risk assessment, stringent internal controls and awareness-raising campaigns

Leonardo has been confirmed as a leader in anti-corruption practices. The company has again been recognised by RINA, an independent certification body accredited with Accredia (National Accreditation Body of certification and inspection bodies) and the Italian leader in conformity assessment, with the ISO 37001:2016 “Anti-bribery Management System” certification - the first international standard on anti-corruption management systems.
Leonardo was first certified compliant in 2018 when it became one of the first companies in the aerospace, defence and security sector at an international level to obtain the certification. This year’s renewal recognises Leonardo’s continued commitment to anti-corruption as a priority issue, with a strong focus on responsible business management in line with sector best practices. The Company continues to strengthen its risk management and internal controls system in order to prevent, detect and combat corruption.

We have a zero tolerance approach towards corruption which is underpinned by continuous employee training and specific risk prevention strategies.”

Leonardo’s commitment to transparency, ethical business and anti-corruption recently saw the Company rank first place in the Defence Companies Index on Anti-Corruption and Corporate Transparency (DCI), developed by the non-governmental organisation Transparency International.
Last year, Leonardo was also recognised for the second year running as the leading aerospace and defence company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. The Company has also been included in climate change charity CDP’s A-list (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), is recognised by the United Nations as a Global Compact LEAD company and was included for the first time in the Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI) in 2021.
