MoU will evaluate mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities
CIAC is Colombia’s leading aerospace company
Under the MoU both parties will explore opportunities for twin-engine helicopters, such as the AW169, AW139 and AW189, to meet Colombian requirements.
Finmeccanica announced today that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Corporación de la Industria Aeronáutica Colombiana S.A. (CIAC). The MoU was signed as Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi visited Colombia this week. Under the MoU Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland and CIAC will evaluate mutually beneficial collaboration opportunities in the Colombian aviation market in areas such helicopter completions, aircraft parts manufacturing, helicopter maintenance and support services. The parties will also evaluate opportunities for twin engine helicopters, such as the AW169, AW139 and AW189, in Colombia for both commercial and military applications.

Corporación de la Industria Aeronáutica Colombiana S.A. (CIAC) was formed in 1956 with the purpose to be an aircraft repair station. Since then its capabilities have expanded to include the provision of aircraft and helicopter upgrades, aircraft logistics support, repair and overhaul services, training and aircraft fabrication.
