  • Nicolò Magini è un esperto di high performance computing e high throughput computing, con 15 anni di esperienza nello sviluppo e nelle operazioni di servizi di analisi e gestione dati su infrastrutture di calcolo su larga scala.

    Nicolò ha conseguito la laurea e il dottorato di ricerca in Fisica all'Università di Firenze, lavorando alla ricostruzione e all'analisi dei dati dell'esperimento CMS al Large Hadron Collider (LHC) del CERN.

    Nel 2007, si è unito al CERN per sviluppare servizi per il Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) che collega 170 centri di calcolo a livello globale per fornire le risorse di archiviazione, networking ed elaborazione utilizzate da migliaia di fisici per analizzare decine di Petabyte di dati prodotti dagli esperimenti LHC ogni anno.

    Al CERN, è stato coinvolto in progetti in tutti gli aspetti del calcolo scientifico, compresa la ricostruzione e l'analisi dei dati, la gestione dei dati, la gestione e il monitoraggio del carico di lavoro e l'analisi. Dal 2014 al 2016 è stato il coordinatore dei progetti di sviluppo di tutti i servizi di calcolo per l'esperimento CMS. 

    A partire dal 2017, Nicolò ha lavorato per l'esperimento ATLAS allo sviluppo di nuovi servizi per l'elaborazione dei dati su diverse infrastrutture, tra cui cloud e centri HPC.

    Nel 2021, Nicolò è entrato nei Leonardo HPC/Cloud Labs, dove ha concentrato la sua attività di ricerca sullo sviluppo e lo sfruttamento dell'infrastruttura HPC davinci-1. Lavora nel team di amministratori di davinci-1, ed è responsabile del deployment del cloud privato sulle risorse di davinci-1.
