Stefano Villanti has been Managing Director of Leonardo's Helicopters Division since September 2026.
Throughout his career, he has built extensive international experience across the aerospace, defence and automotive sectors, holding positions of increasing responsibility in Europe and Asia in the areas of business development, marketing and sales.
He brings more than a decade of leadership experience within Leonardo's rotorcraft business. Prior to his appointment as Managing Director, he led Sales, Marketing & Contracts for the Helicopters Division. Previously, he was responsible for international government and military campaigns, playing a key role in expanding the Division's global footprint and strengthening relationships with institutional customers across strategic markets worldwide.
He began his professional career with Procter & Gamble as a Process Engineer. He later joined McKinsey & Company, where he worked on strategic and operational transformation projects for international industrial companies before taking senior management roles in the automotive sector in Asia.
Villanti holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and an MBA from INSEAD, completed across Singapore and Fontainebleau, France. He also conducted research in Japan as a Monbusho research scholar.
