Human Rights

Leonardo commits to carry out its activities in full accordance with the human rights set out in the Group’s Code of Ethics and Charter of Values, inspired by the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration, the International Labour Organization Conventions, the OECD Guidelines, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and other applicable regulations.

Leonardo has adopted specific processes for the three main areas of human rights that are relevant to the Group – employee management, supplier relationships, and product sales and distribution – to avoid human rights violations, to promote a culture of integrity inside and outside the company, and to constantly improve its business and trade compliance systems.

To strengthen this control system, the Group promotes the protection of human rights across the entire value chain, supporting its adoption by every stakeholder. Leonardo also takes part in multi-lateral initiatives designed to create synergies between associations, companies and institutions. For example, as Lead Company of the United Nations Global Compact, Leonardo has participated since 2019 in the SDG 16 Action Platform for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
