LEONARDO IMPROVES ITS ESG PERFORMANCE IN S P GLOBAL AND ECOVADIS ASSESSMENTS

Rome,  03 November 2026 - 10:41

Leonardo reaffirms its position among world’s leaders in sustainability in the Aerospace, Defence & Security (AD&S) sector, achieving two significant results in international ESG assessments.

In S&P Global's 2026 Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), the Group achieved a score of 85/100, up two points from last year, ranking first in its sector. This result confirms the central role of sustainability for Leonardo as a strategic lever supporting competitiveness, resilience and long-term value creation.

The S&P Global CSA is one of the most authoritative points of reference and benchmark’s of environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance worldwide. Each year it evaluates approximately 9,000 companies across more than 60 industries, and it forms the basis for selecting companies for inclusion in the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indexes.

The key factors that contributed to this assessment include the high level of transparency, strong governance and oversight of ESG topics, as well as the Group's new targets for circularity and the use of electricity from renewable sources, the involvement of the supply chain in decarbonization, and the CRM4Defence project, focused to the strategic management of critical raw materials, which the European Commission has included among the 46 strategic projects under the Critical Raw Materials Act.

The Group also stood out for its integrated management of ESG risks and for its initiatives focused on skills development and the empowerment of its people.

A further important result comes from EcoVadis, one of the leading global providers of ESG ratings, which monitors more than 175,000 companies in over 180 countries and 230 industries. EcoVadis increased Leonardo's ESG score from 78/100 to 85/100, awarding the Group the Gold Medal. This recognition places the company among the top 5% of companies assessed worldwide.

These two important and successful assessments are part of a path of growth and continuous improvement, which has led Leonardo to rank at the top of its sector, also evidenced with other ESG rating agencies:

  • ISS ESG (June 2026) confirmed the Prime Status with a B- rating (on a scale from D- to A+).
  • CDP (December 2025) recognised Leonardo's leadership in tackling climate change by awarding it the A rating, the highest available.
  • Sustainalytics (January 2026) improved the Group's ESG risk profile, assigning an ESG Risk Score of 22.7 and confirming the "Medium Risk" band.
