Finmeccanica and CNR (the National Research Council) have signed a Collaboration Framework Agreement today with the aim of singling out and subsequently developing a portfolio of research Programmes. The agreement intends to promote the implementation of innovative processes and outline solutions and products capable of competing on relevant international markets.

Finmeccanica and CNR have already collaborated, jointly with other public research agencies, in the field of technology in the past and now intend to bolster the synergy achieved by compounding CNR’s research objectives with Finmeccanica’s business targets.

Finmeccanica allocates sizable resources and investments, accounting for approximately 11% of its revenue, to research activities and to developing new products. The agreement that has been signed today represents a way of enhancing the value of intellectual property, thus further consolidating the Group’s global leadership in the field of technology.

The CNR conducts, promotes and coordinates research activities focused on broadening knowledge in the principal development sectors and the agreement signed with Finmeccanica contributes to bolstering its efforts to single out new tools for innovation and growth.

The joint collaborative efforts envisaged in the agreement will be defined by a six-member Steering Committee, comprising three members from each one of the partners, which will single out the priority technology sectors on which to focus the collaborative efforts and monitor the progress made in the implementation of the research Programmes.
