In particular, AgustaWestland, the Finmeccanica helicopter company, has signed a contract valued at approximately EUR 90 million for the sale of seven AW139 helicopters to the Swedish Government for search and rescue (SAR) operations. More than 500 AW139s are now in service performing many roles including SAR, air ambulance, offshore transport, VIP/corporate transport, law enforcement and military utility missions.
On his side, Ansaldo Energia has been awarded a new contract worth about EUR 40 million by Cairo Electricity Production Co., part of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co., government-owned electric utility. The contract is for the supply of a steam turbine plus the relevant hydrogen generator and auxiliary systems for the new combined-cycle power plant of Giza North, on the outskirts of Cairo.
