Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, has been awarded a contract by the UK Home Office to deliver Evidence Based Decision Support (EBDS) services. The three-year contract will provide impartial evidenced decision support to Police and Crime Commissioners and their forces, Fire and Ambulance Services, the Home Office and the wider Criminal Justice System. Example EBDS projects could include the delivery of; reports and studies, output specifications, option appraisal, and capability demonstrations.
“EBDS’s role is to deliver efficiencies in technology, business processes and resources by providing impartial access to a broad range of knowledge and expertise from across the industrial sector,” said EBDS Delivery Director, Peter Martin, adding “As well as being able to optimise new and existing infrastructure, we’ll be able to help reduce the risks associated with critical procurement decisions. Essentially, we’re using the wealth of know-how from across industry to help the government save money, improve efficiency and identify best of breed ideas and business solutions.”
EBDS is led for and on behalf of the Home Office by Selex ES, and is run as a partnership between industry, academia, and SMEs. This unique service uses blended, focused teams from across the partnership to deliver its services.
