The certification was announced yesterday at a ceremony in London, attended by Francesco Mantovani, SVP HR Development and Education at Finmeccanica Group, and HR representatives from the Finmeccanica UK companies: Selex ES, AgustaWestland and Telespazio VEGA UK.

The CRF Institute, a specialist in the field of international research into HR management and working conditions, has just completed this year’s research into the HR policies and practices of a large number of employers in Britain. Finmeccanica UK is one of the few organisations that received the Britain’s Top Employers 2013 certification.

The organisations examined were assessed on the following criteria: Primary Benefits, Secondary Benefits and Working Conditions, Training and Development, Career Development, and Culture Management. Only those organisations that met the stringent research criteria received the Britain’s Top Employers certification.

Eleanor Nickerson, Manager of UK Operations for the CRF Institute, said: “The economy has been tough for the UK during the past year, but we’ve consistently seen our certified Top Employers showing that they value their talent by making sure that they have outstanding employee offerings in place. We’ve also seen a shift towards more coaching, mentoring and training, as employers seek to ensure that they develop employees and that attractive career opportunities are in place for them. We have seen a wide range of creative initiatives, from secondary benefits and working conditions, to performance-management programmes that are well-thought-out and truly aligned with the culture of each company.”

“Our leading position in the UK as a world-class advanced engineering company is very much dependent on how we contribute to the well-being of our employees. Finmeccanica offers its people excellent working conditions together with integrated development and education opportunities, strong attention to employee wellbeing, and international career opportunities”, said Martin Flavell, Vice President, HR, Finmeccanica UK.
