Helicopters
Leonardo has a range of rotary wing solutions including conventional, tiltrotor and UAS systems, operating in the most demanding environments, and offers a complete range of maintenance, engineering, training and logistic support services to ensure the finest customer support experience. Leonardo is also a major partner in Australia’s most advanced medium-lift helicopter: the MRH-90.
Land and Naval Systems
Leonardo is currently executing a New Generation Communications Modernisation Programme for the Navy, featuring a state-of-the-art System Integration & Test Facility, Training Centre and full through life support. New product innovation has been realised in Australia by Leonardo in support of major naval projects and to help Australian Defence achieving future Network Centric Integration.
Security & Information Systems
Leonardo supplies Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems in Australia and contributed to a safer and secured Commonwealth Games in 2018. In March 2018 Leonardo was awarded a contract by the Bureau of Meteorology to deliver state-of-the-art meteorological radars in Australia, using radar systems manufactured by Leonardo in Germany.
Airborne and Space Systems
Leonardo has been supplying Defence Electronics in Australia for over 50 years by providing it with leading-edge radar systems, sensors and technologies to support territory and maritime surveillance. Leonardo has further contributed to the protection of Australian Defence Forces through the supply of sophisticated Counter Measure Systems.
Aircraft
In the ’60s we provided the RAAF with 97 Aermacchi MB.326 jet trainers which were assembled by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corp, and more recently we delivered 10 C-27J Spartans: Leonardo’s medium tactical airlifter. Within the ATR joint venture we have a significant supply base of ATR-72 aircraft operating for both Virgin Australia and Air New Zealand airlines.
