Our capabilities and solutions
Helicopters
Leonardo is acting as prime contractor for the 28 NH90 programme and more than 40 helicopters including the AW139 and the AW189 are performing offshore transportation, utility, surveillance, search and rescue and emergency medical services missions.
Aircraft
Qatar Emiri Air Force ordered 6 M-346 advanced jet trainers, with their pilots already flying the aircraft at the International Flight Training School (IFTS). The company makes a significant contribution to both the airframe and the avionics of the Eurofighter Typhoon ordered by Qatar, including the Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar.
Air defence and ATM
Qatar airspace is safeguarded thanks to a low-level air surveillance and defence system developed by Leonardo, comprising a network of KRONOS radars and associated command and control centres. The company is responsible for all Air Traffic Management electronics and meteorological equipment for the Hamad International Airport, considered one of the most advanced in the world.
Cyber & Security
Leonardo is enhancing Qatar’s cyber and physical security by supplying state-of-the-art technological solutions to prevent cyber-attacks and help security operators to better protect data, information and infrastructure.
