Selex ES teams up with Lockheed Martin to implement the network infrastructure for NATO's new headquarters in Brussels

Selex ES to with Lockheed Martin to implement secure communication services throughout the new NATO building, including wireless voice and data communication systems and IP television services for users' devices.

Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, is on Lockheed Martin’s team that will provide the Active Network Infrastructure (ANWI) for NATO’s new headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

 

Under a three year contract, which can be extended up to a further five years for operation & maintenance activities, Selex ES will work with Lockheed Martin to implement  secure communication services throughout the new NATO building, including wireless voice and data communication systems and IP television services for users’ devices. NATO staff and National Delegations will be supported with state-of-the-art capabilities and will be allowed to use their preferred method of communication easily, reliably and securely.

 

Moreover, Selex ES will provide expertise to assist Lockheed Martin to navigate the security accreditation process in compliance with NATO criteria, provide the lead for testing of the overall infrastructure, and provide Engineering and Technical Support in a number of defined areas.

 

Selex ES solutions have been already chosen to protect NATO against cyberspace threats: the company was awarded a contract in February 2012 to develop, implement and support the NATO Computer Incident Response Capability (NCIRC) - Full Operating Capability (FOC). NCIRC - FOC will enhance information assurance to around 50 NATO sites and headquarters throughout 28 countries. All the solutions offered within the ANWI program are totally integrated with the NCIRC architecture.

 

The ANWI contract is a demonstration of a growing partnership in the security domain between Selex ES and NATO, besides the traditional areas of collaborations as: air defense radars and communications, Link 16 systems for data exchange at 29,000 ft, modernization of Satellite Ground Station and AGS (Alliance Ground Surveillance).
