Diversity, equity and inclusion

Diversity, equity and inclusion - Company

Diversity as a Value

Diversity and inclusion have contributed to building our identity and culture, giving shape to what we are today: a company with a commercial presence in more than 150 countries, with around 60,000 employees, committed to fostering a work environment in which everyone can truly thrive and reach their full potential.

As a demonstration of this commitment, Leonardo has obtained certification on Gender Equality UNI/PdR 125:2022 from RINA following a rigorous evaluation of the governance, policies and tools adopted to promote and protect diversity and equal opportunities in the company.

Leonardo recognises the critical role an inclusive and diverse workforce has in creating opportunities for the Group’s competitiveness, innovation and sustainable growth.

We actively celebrate diversity and promote the principles of equity and inclusion, whilst working to remove and prevent all forms of direct or indirect discrimination in all areas of the working relationship, in both business relations and our internal community.  To this end, Leonardo has also appointed a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager, a figure who guarantees a corporate culture that respects diversity and promotes a collaborative and inclusive working environment.

Our Targets

In line with our sustainable business model, which places people at the centre, we have established concrete and measurable objectives on diversity, equity and inclusion and integrated the Strategic Plan for Gender Equality within the Group's Sustainability Plan. Leonardo has introduced objectives relating to the hiring of women with STEM profiles into the long-term Remuneration Policy for the Chief Executive Officer and the Top Management. Leonardo is committed to ensuring constant monitoring of any pay gaps, with the aim of adopting strategies and actions to decrease the gender pay gap. In 2024, the total median value of the remuneration ratio is 104% (calculated on 96.5% of employees using the following formula: women average remuneration/men average remuneration). Detailed data is available in the 2024 Integrated Report.

Female Leadership and Role Models

International programmes reinforcing female leadership and empowerment through listening, dialogue and discussion. Projects to enhance women with STEM profiles as role models to inspire new generations.

We promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion also through the introduction of new ‘ways of working’ models that encourage a better work-life balance, welfare tools for employees who are caretakers, and unconscious bias trainings for our recruiters.
