Leonardo has signed a collaboration agreement with Italy’s Defence Industry Agency (Agenzia Industrie Difesa - AID). The goal of the agreement is to strengthen synergies between the two organisations’ activities and improve commercial outreach internationally.

The agreement was signed by Leonardo Chief Executive Officer Alessandro Profumo and AID General Manager Nicola Latorre. It will support AID’s mission to develop industrial capabilities, be competitive on the market and efficiently enhance military equipment. Cooperation between Leonardo and AID in the transfer of systems to other countries will boost international relationships and generate economic benefits, with Italian industry working alongside companies in export markets, maximising the involvement of both.

“The cooperation agreement we have signed today will draw on the skills we have at Leonardo to make Italy’s defence industrial capacity more efficient,” said Alessandro Profumo. “The new commercial synergies will reinforce our partnership with AID, strengthen the international position of Italian industry and generate interesting new opportunities,” Profumo highlighted.

Nicola Latorre stressed that “the signing of a cooperation agreement with Leonardo is an important step which will allow us to further develop our industrial capabilities. Our joint activities to expand the outreach of Italian industry into other countries will provide added value for our entire defence sector.”
