Roberto Cingolani’s interview with Bloomberg

Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo’s CEO and General Manager, interviewed by Tommaso Ebhardt for Bloomberg, outlines the development of a European Defence system and the sector’s future prospects, which demand more investment in new technologies and digital infrastructure.

Amid today’s complex geopolitical landscape, Europe faces urgent new Defence challenges that call for a unified and responsive industrial base. As illustrated by Roberto Cingolani, Leonardo's strategy is oriented in this direction, and it has already started the creation of joint ventures and partnerships to enhance competitiveness and reduce investment duplication.

According to Cingolani, the European Defence industry will be able to overcome fragmentation and build major players capable of competing with US and Chinese companies. “I have no doubt – he explains – that in the future Europe will find a way to create Defence giants through mergers and acquisitions,” he said.
