Leonardo at CyCon 2021 – Going Viral

04 June 2021

Leonardo was among leading cyber security experts who contributed to the 2021 edition of CyCon, the international conference on Cyber Conflict, which took place from 25-28 May.

This year’s conference, which usually takes place in Tallin, Estonia, was held virtually to comply with Covid-19-related health regulations, and featured speakers who presented live from the NATO Cyber Defense Center of Excellence (CCDCOE) in Tallin, Estonia. It was themed 'Going viral', in reference to the consequences that a crisis situation, such as the current pandemic, has for the cyber security of states, industry and citizens.

On the first day, Fabio Cocurullo, Vice President Grants Collaboration and Prototypes at Leonardo, held a workshop dedicated to Cyber Range, during which he illustrated its main features – not only as a fundamental tool for training and simulation, but also as a solution for testing the cyber resilience of strategic platforms.

Additionally, Leonardo's Chief Technology Officer, Massimo Tedeschi, delivered a keynote speech on the final day of the event, addressing the issue of cyber security from a supranational defense perspective.

CyCon is a prestigious annual conference dedicated to cyber conflict issues organised by CCDCOE, with which Leonardo has a long-standing collaboration for training in cyber awareness and cyber defence of officers of NATO countries. Every year, more than 600 high-ranking positions in the defence sector, government officials, law and technology experts from the academia, defence and business from more than 50 countries attend CyCon.
