M-345: an insight from Quirino Bucci, Leonardo's Head of Project Test Pilot Trainers

Leonardo’s Aermacchi M-345 jet trainer has established itself as the ideal solution for the future air force’s pilot training needs around the world, following its recent military certification by the Italian DAAA (Aeronautical Armaments and Airworthiness Department).

The M-345 is now ready to enter service with its first customer, the Italian Air Force, and will be offered to international markets also in its multi-role configuration.

Captain Quirino Bucci, Leonardo’s Head of Project Test Pilot Trainers has been involved at every stage of the aircraft’s development up to and including this latest, very important, milestone. Bucci shares his views on some of the aircraft’s unique characteristics and what makes it so suited for jet aircraft training.
