ATR (joint venture between Alenia Aermacchi ed EADS) signed an agreement with the Indonesian vector Garuda and with the Danish leasing company Nordic Aviation Capital for 25 72-600 aircrafts. The contract, which also includes 10 options, amounts to over US$ 840 millions.
The new ATR 72-600, with 70 seats, will be used to develop both tourism and business throughout the Indonesian archipelago, confirming the success of the company in the Asian south-eastern region where, since 2005, it has signed a series of contracts for a total of 170 machines.
Today NAC has the largest fleet of ATRs in the world, with over 100 aircrafts, and with the progressive arrival of the new machines, the company’s ATR portfolio will exceed 150 aircrafts by 2016.
