Mauro Moretti, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Leonardo, signed today a Memorandum of Understanding between e-GEOS (JV between Telespazio and the Italian Space Agency) and the Chinese company Vastitude Technology aimed at cooperation in the Geo -information sector.
The ceremony took place as part of the 4th Italy-China Business Forum, in Beijing on the occasion of the State visit of the Italian President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
The collaboration will cover the joint development, through a dedicated working group, for solutions in the field of Geo-information, with particular regard to interferometric products for monitoring and management of the landscape and the possible applications for maritime security from the use and integration of satellite data.
The MoU signed today confirms and strengthens the collaboration between e-GEOS and Vastitude Technology, which recently announced a multi-year agreement for the distribution in China of satellite data and related operational services generated by the Italian COSMO-SkyMed constellation.
e-GEOS, an ASI (20%) / Telespazio (80%) company, is a leading international player in the Earth Observation and Geo-Spatial Information business.
e-GEOS offers a unique portfolio of application services, also thanks to the superior monitoring capabilities of COSMO-SkyMed constellation, and has acquired leading position within European Copernicus Program. Telespazio is a joint venture between Leonardo (67%) and Thales (33%).
Vastitude Technology is a Chinese company founded by experts in the field of remote sensing, which has developed significant experience in the development, integration and analysis of Geo-information data with the use of innovative methods such as big data and data analytics.
