On 22 November, after staying in harbour for four days, Cavour Naval Group Cavour, represented by the Cavour aircraft carrier and the frigate Bergamini, sailed from the port of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This constitutes the first stage of a navigation that will touch a dozen of harbours which began last November 13 from Civitavecchia.
The visit to Saudi Arabia has played a major role in what was the occasion to celebrate the anniversary of 80 years of relations between Italy and the Middle Eastern country, a celebration that was attended by the Ambassador Mario Boffo and Italian General Consul Simone Petroni and authority of both Arabia and Italian Governments and the private sector.
During the days in the harbour, Finmeccanica had a chance to show off the capabilities and products of the Group companies present in a stand aboard the Cavour aircraft carrier: AgustaWestland, OTO Melara, Selex ES, WASS, Telespazio and MBDA.
