During the first week of May the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence, (CCDCOE), based in Tallin, Estonia, organised the advanced training course The Operational Cyber Threats Intelligence Course.
The course is part of the highly specialized training offer for Officers coming from all CCD COE sponsoring nations, mainly NATO countries and Leonardo Cyber Security contributed by holding two workshops managed by Nino Fasciani, Head of Cyber Security Service Operation Center and Nino Verde, Senior Cyber Security Architect.
One of the workshops was dedicated to an in-depth study on how the role and organization of a Security Operation Center, SOC, are evolving, in light of the continuous evolution of cyber threats, an evolution that requires constantly increasing the resilience level of the SOC, not only from the technological point of view but also from that of processes and human resources.
The other seminar presented, instead, what are the Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) developments, that are essential to keep up with the latest evolutions of state-sponsored threat actors, which make it necessary to adopt a CTI program in order to monitor continuously intents, capabilities and opportunities of these actors.
Both sessions will be repeated in the edition of the Operational Cyber Threats Intelligence Course that the CCDCOE has scheduled for next July.
The CCDCOE is one of the 26 NATO–accredited centers of excellence. It aims to improve cybersecurity capabilities, cooperation and knowledge sharing between member countries through training, education, and research and development. The capabilities and skills made available by the Center are not only purely technological but also concern procedures, organization and laws. Founded in Estonia in 2008 the CCDCOE focuses on research, training and exercises. It represents a community of NATO nations and partners of the Alliance providing a 360-degree look at cyber defence, with expertise in the areas of technology, strategy, operations and law.
Leonardo's participation, in addition to being a honour, is a further shining example of the real commitment of the Company and the Cyber Security to developing a strong culture of security by recognizing education and training as an asset of fundamental importance.
